The Certificate of Individualized Studies enables students to build their program according to their professional and personal educational needs.
Non-Francophone students who wish to improve their French language skills, whether to pursue their studies, or to get along better in their professional field or in Québec society, can include in their study plans the concentration French as a Second Language for Non-Francophones.
The concentration totals six mandatory credits and six elective credits.
The concentration is supplemented by 18 additional credits from the bank of courses offered by the Faculté de l’éducation permanente, the various departments and other faculties, and the schools affiliated with the Université de Montréal.
This certificate may be credited towards a bachelor’s degree (through addition of certificates), as long as the candidate has previously obtained a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or the equivalent.
